Distributing Reports

Stoneware understands that it is more than just getting a report. Users want easy access to information in a fashion that matches the way they work. To address this issue Stoneware's Report Services provides organizations with several different methods of delivering reports to their end users. Users can access reports via a portal or webOS interface, email, RSS, or through their local network file system. Because the delivery of information will vary based on the user (employees, customers, public, vendors, etc), Report Services can adapt to get the critical business information to the people who need it and in a way that it is most convenient.

  • Assign reports to network users, groups, and organizations
  • Deliver reports through an "Executive" Dashboard interface
  • Deliver reports through the webOS desktop interface
  • Leverage Report Services' Scheduler to distribute reports on a scheduled basis
  • Schedule reports to be delivered by email
  • Schedule reports to be delivered via the organization's network file system
  • Distribute reports through RSS (Real Simple Syndication)news feeds

Sometimes it is possible to be overwhelmed with information. Piles of reports and papers stack up on our desks and we are almost powerless to sift through it all. To address this issue Stoneware's Report Services provides "Exception-based" reporting. Exception-based reporting allows "business events" to trigger report generation and distribution. Often manager are more interested in a report when an exception has occurred or a benchmark has been exceeded. Exception reports are sent only when a specific business condition has been met (i.e. - inventory level has dropped below a specific number of units, a past due invoice is over 60 days, or overtime has exceeded 20% of payroll). With exception reporting, managers and executives can stop wading through piles of data and act upon reports that have been driven by business events.
