Solutions: Enterprise
Stoneware's webNetwork is for organizations that are moving to a private cloud computing model where applications and services are increasingly web-based. These organizations see a move to web technologies as strategic in order to simplify management, scale, and reduce costs associated with the end device.
Move to the Web
Eight out of ten enterprise applications purchased or developed by organizations today are based on web technologies. The reason is simple. Web applications are centralized, scalable, and have little or no client-side dependencies. With this in mind, enterprise organizations are aggressively moving to adopt web and cloud technologies.
Stoneware's webNetwork becomes the perfect foundation for enterprises that are transitioning to a cloud computing environment. With a virtual web desktop built on Web 2.0 technology, enterprise IT can deliver web, hosted web, and Windows applications through a consistent desktop interface that is presented to users accessing the private cloud. Each time another application, document, or service is removed from the desktop and placed in the cloud, the cost of managing and supporting the corporate IT environment is reduced.
Secure and Control
Many of the "cloud" computing solutions available on the market today are based on the premise that data, applications, storage, etc. will be hosted by a third party company at an off- site location. While there are benefits to this approach, it ignores the reality that for many enterprise IT environments, issues like security, management, regulations, and politics will keep the cloud at home. At Stoneware we understand and that is why webNetwork is a product that is installed in your network, on your servers, under your complete control.
webNetwork is private cloud technology that is deployed inside your organization's network/DMZ infrastructure. The two-tier server/relay architecture allows you to create a secure private cloud framework where applications, data, and services reside on the internal network while cloud access to these services sits securely within the DMZ. Users accessing the private cloud will communicate over SSL to the webNetwork Relay in order to gain access to their Virtual Web Desktop (webOS) and the services provided within that desktop.
Plug into the Cloud
Stoneware's webNetwork allows organizations to create their own private cloud where they can easily plug in their existing web, Windows, and hosted web applications. Users accessing the private cloud can gain access to these applications and services from anywhere, at anytime.
By far, web applications are the dominant number of new applications being introduced into the enterprise today. Even though they are based on web technologies, IT organizations are still responsible for managing, securing, and provisioning access to this new application environment. Stoneware's webNetwork makes it easy for organizations to plug their web applications into the private cloud without the hassle of backend changes or custom development. Through the webNetwork private cloud, organizations can deliver the same concept of a desktop and applications that users have grown accustom to over the past two decades. Even though the underlying application technology has changed, the concept of a desktop and the requirements to secure and deliver it has not.
